Preparation For JCAT

Preparing for the Joint Centralized Admission Test (JCAT) requires careful consideration due to its complexity. Many candidates underestimate its difficulty, leading to a significant decrease in the passing percentage.

So, here are some important points to note:

• Merely passing JCAT is insufficient; achieving high marks is necessary to secure a residency position.
• The typical preparation period ranges from one to 1.5 months, with daily study sessions lasting 3-4 hours.
• It’s crucial to adhere to the specific pattern outlined by the Examination Authority.
• There is no negative marking.

Paper Pattern:

The exam consists of 125 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each carrying 2 marks (Total marks: 250).

• Practice past papers using “Gateway to MD.MS.MDS” by Dr. M. Ahmad, 6th edition. This book contains all past papers, helping you familiarize yourself with the paper pattern and grasp major topics.
