Why I love anime..
It's sometimes interesting how childhood memories intersect with our adult hobbies. Sometimes, it just takes your breath away. For example, a couple of days ago, I ran into, quite by accident, an episode from the movie "Dirk". Do you remember when we were in our pioneer Boy Scout childhood? Noble pioneers, bad bandits, strong Red Army soldiers, and stupid people whom the Soviet Government will certainly expose, and do something else unnatural. Although...
That's just unnatural, there was nothing there. Because it was a Soviet movie. And as you know, at that time, "there was no sex in the country!" children were born solely on the instructions of the Komsomol Central Committee and the heads of enterprises.
We have no right to shed tears, otherwise the body will obey the heart.
This will be proof that our heart will not obey any orders.
Quote from the anime
Well, that's not the point. I can get angry about the stupid Soviet policy for a long time, and no one is interested in it. But here's the oddity. Do you remember the handsome Misha Polyakov? An idealist, and the main character? And so. Catching my eye on this "Komsomol leader's face", I immediately remembered Yagami Light from the anime "Death Note". The resemblance is portrait-like. That's just it... The characters are painfully opposite! Clever, a pioneer leader, sick of the ideas of communism and pioneer, handsome Mishenka Polyakov (1 photo). And, tough, calculating, a leader, the best student in school, four times the "Student of the Year" in Japan, the son of the head of the murder investigation department, the self-proclaimed "God of the new world", the cruel maniac Yagami Light (photo 2).
Misha Polyakov
I began to think. I watched a couple of episodes of "Dirk" and "The Bronze Bird" again. I reread the manga and scrolled through the anime. And, to be honest, from the conclusions I've drawn from all this.. It made me feel creepy.
Because, as it turned out, the Lite turned out to be simple... More honest. See for yourself. As it turned out, the differences between these two characters end in... Nationality, and the formulation of ideas! But then, the similarity begins. Both are uncompromising, and they never discount anything or anyone. Both, while there is an opportunity, will substitute others for themselves (Mishenka acts even more perversely, which proves that he is a much more talented manipulator!) Both, without regret, instantly get rid of weak allies. Light either physically eliminates them, or... He figures it out right away, and just doesn't get in touch. He doesn't need the weak. Misha... This one prefers to destroy morally. The film is full of scenes where pioneers hold meetings to analyze the behavior of one or another wronged comrade. Rest assured, after such rinsing, people survived only because they were afraid of death (strangely enough, but a person always wants to live, and therefore the thought of suicide in adolescence is most often a demonstration). When one of the "disassembled" ones can't stand the pressure and humiliation, he turns around and leaves the meeting.. He is being boycotted. And the "noble young Leninists" do not disdain physical influence. Went against the pioneers? Dark to him! Let him know.
Against the background of this almost gang—like lawlessness and disrespect, the confrontation between Light and Al (the same young detective, and a genius equal to Light in terms of intelligence) looks quite legitimate. If it hadn't been for the detective's death. Anime is generally a more honest art than Soviet cinema. There is no "Black and White", "Positive and Negative". The Japanese always emphasize that the most righteous can lose their temper and turn out to be a scoundrel. And an uncouth brute, a cruel Yakuza, and the most unruly and pugnacious teenager can become the most gentle and caring. They even came up with a special term for such people - tsundere.
And having made all these conclusions... To be honest, I've been thinking about this. I, just like everyone else, grew up on some kind of ideals that they tried to instill in us by telling stories about grandfather Lenin, and driving us first into the pioneers, then into the Komsomol (I'm still proud that I wasn't a Komsomol member!). And now, as an adult, and having watched a bunch of other "non-ideological" films, I realize with horror how false and hypocritical those ideals turned out to be? And therefore, in the eternal debate of cultural critics, I will still give my vote for anime. It doesn't matter which one. Frankly childish. Teen, from the adult section... Any kind. Just because it's more honest. And, kinder. And more real, despite the fact that "there are no such eyes.".. Sometimes, gentlemen! Look at your child's eyes when he finds such a long-awaited gift under the tree! When, puffed up with pride, he rides on Dad's shoulders to the zoo. When he breaks his knee, he realizes that if he snuggles up to his mom, the pain will go away...
